When Nick arrived home after his talk with Jordan, Gatsby was waiting for him, excited as a little kid but tried to hide it.Gatsby asked Nick to arrange his meeting with Daisy.Nick agreed to do so.It was a rainy day when Daisy and Gatsby met,they both were very nervous.The meeting took place at Nick's house and, initially, their conversation was stilted and awkward.Nick left the couple alone for a few minutes. When he returned, they seemed luminously happy.
They made their way over to Gatsby's mansion, of which Gatsby proceeded to give them a carefully rehearsed tour. Gatsby showed Daisy newspaper clippings detailing his exploits.When he showed her his vast collection of imported shirts, she began to weep tears of joy. Nick wondered whether Gatsby was disappointed with Daisy,with her behaviour. Gatsby imagined her as a goodness,she couldn't possibly live up to so grandiose an ideal.
